The website allows to freely download digitalized versions of publications edited by the École Française d’Athènes, starting from 1877. Up to now, 500 volumes have been made available, including, inter alia, the complete series of the Bulletin de Correspondance hellénique and archaeological excavations reports (Études thasiennes, Exploration Archéologique de Délos, Fouilles de Delphes, etc.).

The search engine allows to find and to visualize digitalized texts thanks to existing agreements signed with an always-increasing number of authors, publishers and libraries all over the world. As for books without copyright or provided with author’s or publisher’s authorization, it is possible to visualize the whole text, while for public domain books it is possible to download .pdf versions. In all other cases, a preview limited to certain parts of the book or “fragments” of the texts are shown.

The search engine is specialized in scientific documents pertaining academic fields at worldwide level. Available materials include: documents approved for publications, thesis, books, papers held at conferences, abstracts, quotations, articles regarding all research fields and made available by Publishers, professionals institutions, Universities and other Academic Entities. In the pages containing the search results it is also possible to find useful information on related articles and on the number of quotations of the record in other academic documents. Internet Archive is a digital library collecting a huge amount of data (published texts but also audio files, movies, no more existing websites and several kind of digital materials) of public domain or with authorized access. As far as archaeology is concerned, it is possible to find the scans, freely downloadable, of several journals (for example American Journal of Archaeology, Mitteilungen des Deutschen Archaeologischen Instituts, Atensiche Abteilung/ Romische Abteilung, Notizie degli Scavi di Antichità, Ephemeris archaiologike, etc.) or of ‘classical’ relevant texts.

The archive collects more than one thousand academic journals, digitalized and full-text available, usually starting from first volumes and excluding most recent ones (last 3-5 years). Institutions such as libraries, universities and publishers are allowed to download texts, while individuals are allowed insofar as specific agreements with publishers are made. Open-source index are available. Publications concern humanities area, scientific and social field. There are currently 62 on-line journals.

The website, organized by the Direktion Landesarchäologie of Mainz, is a catalogue, divided by geographical areas, which comprehends all Greek-Roman theaters of Mediterranean and Europe. According to the intentions of the authors, presents himself as an evolving framework, incorporating news and writings of other scholars.

Contents can be purchased, temporary consulted or made permanently accessible. By registering oneself to the website, it is possible to create one’s own user workspace, where it is possible to save personal bibliographies, create tags and comments.

The URBS catalogue collects bibliographic data belonging to Rome’s specialist libraries of Research Institutes and Academies established in 11 different countries. The catalogue contains circa 500.000 bibliographical records, periodically updated, and includes photographs, digital sources, geographical plans and musical scores as well.

The catalogue is mainly dedicated to humanities area, especially classical archaeology, history, art history, philology, patristics, law and social sciences.

The central catalogue of the Deutsches Archäologisches Institut (DAI) merges the catalogues of the libraries related to the different Institute Headquarters, in addition to the whole “Bibliografia Archeologica” (DYABOLA), edited by DAI since 1956, with the list of volumes’ and journals’ articles.
