This paper offers a study of the ancient road system in the area between the Forum Boarium and the Forum Holitorium, a key junction in Rome’s urban and suburban traffic network. Drawing on literary, epigraphic, and archaeological sources, the main roadways are reconstructed, including the vicus Iugarius, vicus Tuscus, and various secondary routes. Their orientations, interactions with nearby monuments, and chronological developments are analyzed in detail. The research highlights how the road network adapted to changing topographical and functional needs, from commercial distribution to ceremonial movement. Despite the limitations imposed by incomplete documentation, the study outlines a layered and evolving urban fabric, where streets played a central role in shaping the spatial organization and identity of the district from the archaic period through late antiquity.
