Through the analysis of iconographic, archaeological and zoo-archaeological, literary and epigraphic evidences, some aspects of rituals and cults associated with hunting in Crete have been highlighted in the historical period. The aim is to propose some interdisciplinary insights that highlights the political-social role played by hunting within Cretan society, but also the symbolic importance of some preys, in particular the agrimi, as well as the main deities involved in cynegetic activities in Crete.
